Welcome to Al Andalus Ultra Trail 2009

Newsflash : Entry is now open for Al Andalus Ultra Trail 2009! Al Andalus Ultra Trail is a very tough 5 day, 5 stage race of around 250km. The course, described below, will provide a very demanding test not just for your legs but for your character and determination. Temperatures will be high ( 35-45C ), climbs numerous and long and the trails are scenic and demanding. Over 90% is off-road, mountain and desert tracks with the majority of tarmac in the final kilometers when you are approaching the stage village finishes. The race will be semi-supported* so you can travel with the minimum specified and enjoy the journey.

Unlike other extreme races, where you travel in remote areas and have to be self-sufficient, this race takes you on a " tour " via local villages. The terrain between them is tough but each stage ends in a village where, once you have eaten your " carried meal " you are free to visit, ( and eat / drink more if you want too ).
* More on this in General Information and Rules and Regulations.

The unique atmosphere and spirit that we will all share during Al Andalus Ultra Trail makes it an event that anyone serious about ultra running should aspire to add to their list of " have dones " . The " Challenge of a Lifetime " awaits, make sure that you are a part of the first edition of this amazing event. We look forward to seeing you.
